Marian L. Mattson was the eighth child of thirteen & the second daughter born to, Andrew Victor Mattson & his wife, Hannah Sofia [Johnson] Mattson on, 22 November 1904, in Boyne Falls, Michigan. On 26 December 1924 in, Iron Mountain, Michigan, she married, Norman Shelson. Together Marian & Norman would share eight known children. She died in Bangor Bay Michigan on, 14 July 1990. She's buried in Oak Rudge Cemetery, Boyne City, Leelanau, MI.
