The replacement to the Historic Milwaukee S-Curve bridge is a double track concrete and steel structure. So as to continue rail operations during construction, the new bridge was built approximately in two halves. The first half was constructed to the south of the trestle and included a short section of double track width bridge, where it would fit in the curve of the trestle it was replacing.
