A link to the ages of wooden ships and iron men. The frame is beautifully apportioned by the horizon, as a lovely ship stitches the sailors' quilt-pieces, sky to sea. Like the ship, the pier is of wood, a surface upon which men can comfortably practice that ageless art (or livelihood) of fishing. Only a solar panel brings this reverie into Our Age. One feels--as much as one sees--this fine photograph.
