We started hiking to the base of the snowfield at about 4:15 AM. Half an hour later, we got to the start of the climb. Two climbers were going up our original route on the Wintun side of the snowfield. It looked far too icy for us to attempt as we didn't have any ice screws with us.

When I was leading, I always knew where Santosh was because of his reflective gloves!
