At about 10,000 feet (~3050 m.), we found a nice wind-shielded campsite, near this stream. Yea! A good source of water! We don't have to melt snow! It was a muddy, dinky little stream, but it was OUR muddy, dinky little stream.

Did you need to purify it? Or can you trust the water at that point?

We didn't take any chances. We used a filter on the water, but I'd bet it's pretty safe. It's flowing out from UNDER the snowfield, and we saw only insects, birds and humans above about 9000 feet.

It's probably safe. The major danger is Giardia. The major source would be humans!
