One hiker we met on the trail aptly described the mile or so between Trailside Meadow and Trail Camp as "Heartbreak Mile." You climb ridge after rocky ridge, thinking you are almost there, but all you find are more ridges to climb. When you finally arrive, the challenge is to find a campsite among the dozens of other campers already there. Cynthia did a great job of finding a site that was shielded from the wind, relatively secluded from the other campers, and close to water.
