A view down to the Palisade Basin. You can't really see it in this photo, but the exposure is nasty here. A slip off that rock would result in a fall of several hundred feet. There are similar falls all around the summit monolith. We tried several methods of roping the monolith (lasooing, tossing a rope over, clipping a biner to the rope and looping it, etc.), nothing worked...
