Vigna Family Beach Portraits

I went to Lake Michigan with Brian, Rachael, Emma (~6), Erin (~4), and Allison (9mo) Vigna to take some photos. They were guinea pigs so they gave lots of energy to climb up a huge dune and take two hours worth of high UV sun rays to take these. We did many different ideas to simply see what works best and most natural.

I am thinking of buying the nikon 24 120 lens. Why are your photos not sharp. Is this a
problem with lens ?
