I used to strap my camera bag to my bike while going to school at Middle Tennessee State University and one day when I returned my dog, Max, was hanging out on the landing of our 2nd floor apartment. I just sat there as if he was gaurding the place which was kind of strange given his personality and age but quickly locked up my bike, pulled out the old K-100, swapped lenses and shot a pic. The original one was in color with a slight tilt and extra area around but when I enlarged it in my old bathroom dark room, I deskewed it and cropped it for a 5x7 frame. This print was done on ilford satin paper and the picture came out beautifully grainy due to my heavy use of yellow/red filtration with the black and white paper. The love for this picture remains even though the dog became psychotic and had to leave our life very rapidly.
