the Studio

One light with 24x36 soft box with silver panels inside and an additional diffuser inside.
It was setup with a 72" silver reflector for typical lighting setup.
Duplicated in photoshop and placed over original with "overlay" mode used.

She didn't plan this pose, I don't think, but she changed from typical poses to this expression.

thanks for the comment. If she had been sitting up straight with a 'normal' pose, we'd see the intended lighting but this worked well since I wanted fall-off around her face and here she's posed in the "fall-off" area. See one of the following images for normal version for lighting. Softbox near front of image with reflector right to her right. I hope that helps.

Hi there
Some good, standard-type portraiture here.... i am interested in the lighting techniques for this shot... very moody, strong image.
Very balanced yet expressive composition.
Keep coming back to it. What a beautiful lady... wow!
