Once a year they light the old light which features a "fresnel" lens. It can be a very beautiful sight depending on the weather conditions. It was cold and a bit breezy otherwise a wonderful night. I couldn't stay long so I grabbed about 2 dozen shots very fast. Shot at 1600 ISO this shot has a lot of digital "noise". (Low light shooting is not one of Nikon's better features) But the interesting thing is that I saw a plane flying over at that moment and noticed it's path would be right over the Lighthouse. So I open up the shutter and caught this. The streaks of light were the running lights and the dots are the strobes firing as it flew over. Not the best shot, but cool nevertheless.
