The Dremel was remarkably easy to control. I actually used my other hand to steady the tool. (This pic is posed, the tool is not on since I had to use one hand to snap the photo.)

The bit looks like a burr with lots of little teeth which leave the finish textured with numerous small grooves. The texture could probably be smoothed out but I think I will leave it.

I thought about painting the grooves but decided that I will simply varnish them. The texture will make them stand out well enough without being too prominent.
