To Greg Hall:

The hulls are solid hand laid fiberglass. The decks are cored with a structural
foam (something like Airex, I can't remember the brand)but with plywood at
hardware attachments. Its important to keep the hardware properly bedded but, at
least, if it is neglected, the rot can only go so far.

The ballast is internal. I believe the ballast is steel shot mixed with resin so
it is fully encapsulated and integral with the keel. The placement of the center
of gravity is plenty low since the hull is also availalbe as a 3'3" draft with a
centerboard. Lowering the ballast 9" for the fixed keel makes the boat much
stiffer.

The builder had been the Quality Control Manager for the Westsail east coast
plant until it was closed. These boats are very well built.

Can you tell me anything about the construction of these boats. Are the hulls solid or cored? What is the deck cored with? Is the ballast lead and is it internal or external? I would appreciate any information you have. Thank you.
