Fence Post
by Bootstrap

Image replaced with this unusual crop.
This was a quite difficult shot, believe it or not.
My intent was to shoot at f/1.8, and I did, in very, very bright conditions. EXIF indicates 1/2500" and that's accurate.
Developed in LR, converted in PS with a trick or two.

I like the unusual crop, that's for sure. I still think that a longer lens would have worked a shallower dof much better, but i understand the eye or perspective intent with the 24mm, as i use that lens too. Good texture on the wood too.

unusual crop Bill - but I like it a lot. you have a lot of empathy with wood grain.

I like this one Bill. The crop reminds me that I should go to bed now so that I can get up in the morning to attend church.

This is super nice Bill, right on theme and a very nice scene ta boot! Nice and sharp with good detail on even the knotty wood in the post and good use of shallow DOF to isolate it.

The weathered wood element makes a very strong presence and the leading line the way it arches back to the center of the picture works well. A personal "thing" I enjoy is when one can get a midtone like the shade of the forepost to cut across dark and light and still remain recognizable. Nice shot Bill.

Very nicely done, the b&w conversion has retain the texture and tones in the post so well its almost tactile.
If a have a small nit, its that the framing is maybe just a little too tight by a mm or so.
