Barry, I've spent 2 or 3 weekends photographing there recently on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon. The staircase series is from this staircase but a floor or two up. All the photos in the comp and exhibition (except for Sea Grasses) are from the Tate I'm a member there and the Members Room on the 5th floor has a terrace at the front overlooking the Thames and another at the back (Winter Sun in the Exhibition) It's a magnificent place even without anything in it.

Is this also where your staircase series comes from? On our short visit to the UK a couple of weeks ago, my wife and I spent several enjoyable hours there and even then only saw about half of the exhibits. There are some great views over the Thames as well.

Thanks Michael. We'll keep our secret :-)

I was waiting for someone to come along and position themselves against the railing but noone showed up as it was close to the end of day. In spite of that I really like the strong lines and the view of the lights so decided to put it in anyway. I don't really expect it to appeal to many - just us!!!

Another great choice of shot made so much more interesting by the sign. Of course only we in England will know where it is.

It looks like a long way down. I believe I'll stay topside, thank you very much. :-)
