racoon shortcut - brent

One step in there and you are up to your ankles in goop - if you do not hurry you will quickly sink up to your knees and beyond.

There would be light front racoon foot prints around an area - followed by the heavier rear foot prints.

I got a tickle out of this one Brent! I love all those little foot prints. It's sad the blight our racoons are facing. They have enough of a hard time surviving traffic but now this distemper thing is devistating to them. Very sad. Very cute photo!

really lovely late afternoon light.
Makes you wonder why they would venture out onto such a dangerous muddy sinkhole

so, you cannot follow the racoon's road, since they are much lighter, or you will sink, ,which means, you have to find your own path, best of luck and faith,

So this is a marsh of some kind ... and I assume it is overgrown with sphagnum moss. The footprints enhance the sinking, wet effect. Those trees in the distance are certainly straight - like troops, all lined up.
