Great composition, every element is just in the right place. I think this almost rectilinear sand shore dividing the scene makes the photo, and your dog jogging along is a nice add. endika

Dennis, wave action (on windy days) keeps the strip of sand clear. --- Woody

Excellent shot Woody. Love the composition, a great leading line and dog tracks with the dog heading off into the distance sets it off beautifully. How does the strip of sand remain in snow conditions? Is it because of its higher temperature and when it gets rough it washes up along the edges? Dennis

Shirley, this little Lake is Lake Tahoe, and at 1600ft deep it never freezes over. Yes it is very nice along the shore this time of year (and even nicer up in the hills if you are a skier). --- Woody

This lake is really pretty! I love the waterline along the sand and then SNOW and lots of it! When we get that much snow, our water every where is frozen solid. I'm sure it is very peaceful here. Woody, thanks for the well wishes about the new baby! Now that kid thread of your's will have a new regular. I always love looking in on that thread. Your girls are both amazing.
