Camp 1 to Camp 3

The next morning we start leisurely at 10am but now with heavy packs as mules only go to 11,800ft. Our hike to camp at 13,800ft is without problem. But Alberto has a lung problem and is slow and suffering.

On day three we continue up and move camp from 13,800ft to 15,800ft over a lot of steep scree. But everyone feels good in our high camp. We add another short acclimation hike up to ~16,700ft to get a good look at the trail for tomorrow. In the evening I suddenly feel nauseous and can't eat much of my dinner.

Am nächsten Morgen beginnen wir gemuetlich um 10 Uhr, aber jetzt mit dem schweren Gepäck weil Maultiere nur bis auf 3600 m gehen. Unsere Wanderung zum Camp auf 4200m ist problemlos. Aber Alberto hat ein Lungenproblem und ist langsam und angestrengt.

Am dritten Tag geht es weiter und wir bringen unser Camp von 4200m, ueber viel steiles Geroell auf 4820m. Aber alle fühlen sich gut in unserem Hochlager. Wir machen noch eine kurze Akklimatiseirungswanderung bis ~ 5100m und testen damit auch den beginn des Weges fuer den Gipfeltag. Am Abend fühle ich mich plötzlich übel und will nichts von meinem Abendessen wissen.
