Camp 1 to Camp 2

Today like yesterday we slowly hike to the next camp at 18,000ft. This is Camp 3 of the Guanaco route. So by now we have circled almost around the mountain. We have a good view of the Polish glacier and it still looks very icy an open. The decision to not do that route was right.

The next morning we have a big discussion about having a rest day at 18,000ft as Armin is not feeling too well and needs more acclimation time. However the weather forecast stays stable. So it should not matter and we decide to stay here another night and to delay the ascend to Camp Colera by a day.

Heute wie gestern wandern wir langsam zum nächsten Camp auf 5500m. Das ist Camp 3 des Guanaco Route. So jetzt haben wir fast den Berg umkreist. Wir haben guten Blick auf den polnischen Gletscher und die Route sieht immer noch sehr eisig aus. Die Entscheidung die Route nicht zu gehen war richtig.

Am nächsten Morgen haben wir eine große Diskussion über einen Ruhetag auf 5500m. Armin fühlt sich nicht so gut und braucht mehr Akklimatisierungszeit. Die Wettervorhersage bleibt jedoch stabil so entscheiden wir noch eine Nacht hier zu bleiben und den Aufstieg zum Camp Colera um einen Tag verzögern.
