The Whitethroat L 13-15cm (5.1-5.9")
breeds in open landscapes with scrubs and hedges and at tidal meadows with small bushes. Sings from top of a bush or in a short hopping song flight. The nest is build in dense bushes. The Whitethroat is a pretty large and long-tailed warbler. The bill is robust with a lighter basis. It has pretty strong yellow-brown legs. It has wide rust-brown edges on the primaries and secondaries and a grey-brown back. The tail sides are white. The adult male has a grey head with a white eye-ring and throat, a rose toned breast. The iris is ochre-red. It often has a startled appearance.
