This is the same bird shown in the first photo of this album. I looked for the bird 2-16-08 at it's regular hunting area but only found an immature Krider's which I photographed. On Sunday, I drove up and scanned for the Krider's when I saw some feathers being blown up out of the grass about 150 yards off the road. My heart sunk as I approached and realized it was the immature male Rough-legged Hawk that had been using this field for almost 3 months.
