I had 4 Short-billed Dowitchers today and a fifth bird dropped in out of the blue (really gray skies). This is a detail of de tail. You can see the black bars on the upper tail feathers are wider than the white while the tertials completly cover the primaries. Also note the primaries fall short of the tip of the tail, all good points for a Long-billed Dowitcher.
