At the advice of Paul Lehman, a few years back, I've spent a lot of time scanning swallows flocks of all sorts, looking for stealth Cave Swallows here along the Mississippi River. An encounter a couple of years back, with a probable Cave at the mouth of the Wolf River here in Memphis, resulted in only one unsatisfactory photo showing only the back of that bird in flight. Needless to say flying birds, especially swallows are hard to photograph, especially with my old equipment.
Yesterday, Saturday September 30, 2006, I found two light rumped birds feeding in with hundreds of Rough-winged Swallows and after many frustrating missed shots of these two birds, I came up with two photos which I've posted below.
