it looks as if the snapping turtle was on pavement. I hope the turtle was not on a road - I've seen numerous big snappers run over by cars on fast roads. Aesthetics balanced by ethics: please reassure me that the photographer made sure the turtle was out of harm's way after snapping the photo (pun intended.)
