I remember once we arrived at the gear our captain said we had to stop and remove the ice. If you don't, it will affect the vessel's stability and possibly capsize. It took 6 grown men, who are essentially professional athletes, over 6 hrs to remove what you see here using 40lb sledge hammers, ice picks and shovels. It is beyond back breaking and you would much rather pull crabs pots than break ice any day!
