"The artist is the opposite of the politically minded individual,
the opposite of the reformer, the opposite of the idealist.
The artist does not tinker with the universe,
he recreates it out of his own experience and understanding of life."

'The vessel is often seen as being tantamount to the human body:
it too has a lip, a neck, belly, and foot.
In many African cultures, pottery decorations echo bodily adornment
such as scarification marks and tattoos.
Seen here on this vessel is the scarification markings
of this young Yungur woman's torso.
It was piped on using a cake decorating tool and a slutty concoction.
It was then high fired twice until a rich brownish-red skin tone was captured.'
