This is a porch view of an early settler log cabin located in the Mountain Farm Museum. This museum is in Smoky Mountain National Park near the Town of Cherokee, North Carolina. The park built an entire mountain farm settlement based on the early settlements in this region. Visitors to the park can visit this old farm which even includes some live stock plus the near by historic water powered Mingus Gristmill. Add in the wandering herds of elk and you have a time travel experience. One new addition is that you will need a parking pass as of March 1, 2023 sold by the park service to park more than 15 minutes in the Smokies. Still well worth the cost.
