Old Settler Cabin

Cherokee, North Carolina

This is a porch view of an early settler log cabin located in the Mountain Farm Museum. This museum is in Smoky Mountain National Park near the Town of Cherokee, North Carolina. The park built an entire mountain farm settlement based on the early settlements in this region. Visitors to the park can visit this old farm which even includes some live stock plus the near by historic water powered Mingus Gristmill. Add in the wandering herds of elk and you have a time travel experience. One new addition is that you will need a parking pass as of March 1, 2023 sold by the park service to park more than 15 minutes in the Smokies. Still well worth the cost.

Monochrome really makes the trip into the past feel just right!
This is a great composition having the stone anchor this on both right and left and then seeing all the way through the house to the trees beyond!

The volume of the space, and the distance, is very well captured. Of course the cabin is a gem. V

Fabulous B&W work, Dave. I love this POV and how well it shows both the outside and the tunnel through the inside not to mention the very high level of detail. ~BV~

an excellent image revealing so much...the cabin seems crude, yet sturdy and built to last many a year...the view along the porch is engaging, and the overall graphic scheme a delight..V
