Valley Of The Gods

Near Mexican Hat, Utah

Even though I mostly shoot and print in color, there are times I think an image works better as a black and white. Black and white/ monochrome will always have a special appeal for me. Valley of The Gods is often overlooked but is as beautiful and dynamic as many of the National Parks in Utah. Every time I have visited The Valley Of The Gods, it has been basically deserted except for a few campers who trailer camp off road. If you like isolation, this is a great place to visit. For tent camping it would be differently primitive camping and whatever you need, you better bring with you.

I love the way those longing shadows lead me in!
I feel the dry stream bed further intensifies the harsh nature of the place.
It is a glorious black and white masterpiece that should hang in a museum..

Looks stark and forboding and you've captured and presented it well in mono Dave.
