There She Goes-Wishing The #611 A Good Trip

Notice the small white drone high above the engine. The #611 is approaching a fairly steady incline so they were starting to push her. This engine was rated to be able to pull 15 passenger cars at 110 mph when she was built.

That smoke sure indicates its producing more power! Probably not too many folks are around that can run one of these fantastic machines. Great memories! V.

Inclines are Always a good place to shoot steamlocomotives. They have to give everything and it is very rewarding for the photographer. A very fine shot Dave!

Love the black billowy smoke. Great focus on the moving train- I can easily read the writing on the side and I really like the textures in the trees.

Flattening out the smoke as she hurtles along the tracks. A lot of weight moving very fast. V
globalgadabout20-Jul-2015 17:25
it does seem a full head of steam...110 mph is a stormin' speed...potent contrast on the smoke..
