I watched a pair of Nuthatches investigate a few cavities in my back yard. Shortly thereafter I hear one almost continuously tooting for at least 5 minutes but couldn't locate it visually. I then observed and photographed them for several hours bringing material to a cavity, and also removing material. They were still at it at sun down.
