Although I'm not thrilled with this image, it probably isn't the lens's fault and it does illustrate the "macro" capability of the 70-200VR + TC17 combination.

Shot on a dreary cloudy day. The grasshopper was rather large, about 3 inches in length as I recall. Although he doesn't "pop", I suspect nature intended it to be that way.
