I photograph a lot of scenes, but some, like this one, touch me more than others. I loved how the light of the bright, hot, setting sun and the strong shadows contrasted with the softness of the little surfer and how the light lit up her hair.

This shot is part of a new series I started called "Sunsets with Rocky". Some of you may remember that Rocky is my dog and I really enjoy spending time with him. But I also like to shoot sunsets at the beach. So to combine these two desires I purchased a camera with a high resolution sensor that is compact and light weight enough to hold in one hand and shoot while I hold Rocky's leash in the other. As you can image, in body image stabilization was also a must.
