Surfing doesn't immediately jump to mind when I think of refereed sports, but it is. I shot this at a club competition of the West Coast Boardriders. The format of the contest involves tag team surfing of one hour in each age category. Surfers need to come out of the water and tag in the next rider and the ref is there to make sure the tags take place. Now you know.
