6th February 2005, Cairngorm lump

One of the most common minerals on the earth,
yet there is such a variety.
Quartz, this lump is from the Cairngorms I think.
It's been a beautiful, sunny day.
I've been feeling a bit lethargic though.
I stuck this on top of the telly,
as the sun was getting low in the sky,
shining through the window.

Unfortunately my wife loves gemstones, costs a fortune.

There is a Cairngorm Gemstone too - similar to a diamond, but it's a smokey gray colour. Really nice tones in this though Northy!

I thought it was a piece of slate until I read your comments, and how is Quartz different to quartz??? My spelling has never been very good.... hehehe.

Great picture, nice warm colours. Err, my pedantic side notes the correct spelling is quartz....

Nice one. But you do realise if you keep taking bits away there'll be nothing left to walk on!
