There have been a few sad memories as well. The little grave yards of New Mexico rate high on that list. Some are rather fancier with iron railings and fancier headstones.
But in the small towns few are groomed and they are all but overgrown with weeds and some field flowers. They seem so sad to me. The faded photos in some headstones bring tears.
Some have very old markers often dating back to when the area was still part of Mexico.
