Out in the garden enjoying the spring sunshine:
Ladybirds do not build nests, as they are not social insects.
But they do aggregate in groups to hibernate, seeking shelter in crevices, under bark, or inside buildings during winter.
These, or similar, spots are often referred to as "nests" or "overwintering sites".
