It’s 20 years since starting a Photo a Day in 2006, in my 40th year.
During that year so gave up a very steady safe job & launched a successful wedding photography business.
Having enjoyed 20 years of working at my ‘hobby’, to finally giving up all the pressures of running the business in my 60th year.
Back in 2006…. in the days of camera less mobiles, dial-up internet, no ‘instagram, no Ai and a dodgy piece of
editing software. Each day seemed a task in itself just to ‘make a photo’! It was a simple way of looking, trying to
improve, learn new techniques and join a community of like minded photographers who gave positive critiques
to your work. Some are still friends today - PBase was ahead of its time!
It is so very simple nowadays, with high res smart camera phones!
So with a little extra time available, I thought I would revisit the Pad and keep the cameras working.
This time, no pressure to improve or worry about getting the perfect image each day. Images these
days stay unloved, stored away in a cloud of memories, so hopefully just by picking out one a day,
will become more of a visual diary of my year....
