It’s 20 years since starting a Photo a Day in 2006, in my 40th year.
During that year I gave up a very steady safe job & launched a
successful wedding photography business. Having enjoyed 20 years
of working at my ‘hobby’, to finally giving up all the pressures of
running the business in my 60th year.
Back in 2006…. in the days of camera less mobiles, slow
painful dial-up internet, no instagram or TikTok, no Ai and a dodgy
piece of editing software. Each day seemed a task in itself just to
‘make a photo’!
The PAD project was a simple way of looking, trying to improve,
learning new techniques & join a community of like minded
photographers, who gave honest, positive critiques to your work.
Some are still friends today - PBase was way ahead of its time!
So very simple nowadays, with high res smart camera phones, Ai and all that!
So with a little extra time available, I thought I would revisit the Pad &
keep the cameras working. This time, no pressure to improve or worry
about getting the perfect image each day. Way too many images these
days stay unloved, stored away in a cloud of hidden memories, hopefully just
by picking out one a day, will become more of a visual diary of my year....
