The owner is having trouble believing it could be this hot in NY Harbor while Ed steers ahead of the first decent breeze we had on the trip . . . NW at 8-10. We had timed our run through Hell Gate very well. With the extra help from the nor’wester, this helped us to make it to Shark River, NJ after dark that evening. This was instead of pulling in earlier as originally planned at Sandy Hook, NJ. We made about 60 miles for the day which was pretty good considering that we couldn’t leave City Island until around 10:00 am due to the tide.
