When installing a 12 volt marine refrigeration unit special care should be taken in calculating amps consumed by the system. 12 volt refrigeration is relatively cheap and quick to install, but it is power hungry. Make sure you have a large enough battery bank, maybe 500 amp hours in the tropics and a large enough alternator to charge the batteries.
