Thanks for a native guide's eye view.

You might enjoy Aldous Huxley's essay "Wordsworth in the Tropics," the gist of which is that sunny, simplistic views of "nature" don't encompass the awesome power and otherness of the world's great forests. I tried to find an online reference to the text and couldn't, so this would be a library search, but I think a rewarding one.

Superb stills, moving forests. For me: Deep Dark and Trunk Leaf, and Spirits.
Just returned from New England forests, where hardwood colors change so quickly.
