Rabbit Ringers on a Ridge


That’s what a friend of mine calls these hare bells.

Imagine rabbits below, pulling ropes,
as in old-time church belfries,
setting the bells to chime and dance
through the air from a mountain ridge
ringing joyous echoes into the world.

What a view these dancing flowers have
as they thrill steep valleys on either side
with melodious songs of holy echoes.

“Awake! Awake! It’s a bright-bright, blue-sky beautiful day”.
