ISLAND OF MIST

Across the water,
under a vast and gentle cloudy sky,
an island.
Or is it an island?
I like to think of it as an island.

All I know is there are deep forests
in the thrall of mist and cloud.
Mystery? Hidden truths?
People? Animals? Strange plants?
Droplets of cool moon silence
in a white and veiled world?
