CRABAPPLE
She admires the hidden beauty of the Malus ‘Purple Prince’
crabapple through dogwood petals.
The names crabapple and dogwood have nothing to do
with crabs or dogs,
although the notoriously sour crabapple fruit
stands accused of having a ‘crabby’ temperament.
‘Skrabba’, a Swedish word, means ‘fruit of the wild apple tree.’
And the blossoms of the Purple Prince speak for themselves.
Nothing crabby about them.
