2017, 2018, Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden

RSBG is a 22 acre treasure of a botanical garden halfway between Seattle and Tacoma, specializing in rhododendrons with hundreds of rhodies of species origins from around the world set among native conifers. In addition to the rhodies, there's a blue poppy meadow (see my gallery https://pbase.com/nirvanh/bluepoppies ), an alpine rockery garden, a Victorian stumpery and a pond garden. A 5,000 sq ft conservatory displays tropical rhodies (vireyas), some close to extinction in their native lands, as well as other rare plants, tree ferns and orchids. Not many people visit the gardens, and on my first visits in 2017 and 2018, in February, I was the only visitor, even though it wasn't raining and there were already many flowers in bloom. I've taken many images here, shown in various Pbase galleries over the years, but this gallery is specifically just for RSBG, whenever I get a chance to visit in 2017 and 2018.
