This is magnificent! Very powerful!

Wow, I think this is a gorgeous shot, Kelly. Well done.

I like this one better than the next, as this is softer in appearance - not as harsh, moodier too.

Like it, it has great potential. On a copy Id play with it, capture all above the horizon, and do what you want with it. Then, capture all below, and you can bring out details you would not dream existed. Ive found there is always a lot more detail in shadows than apparent. We can create separate zone areas or tones of grays in highlights without blowing detail. Then get more details in shadows, by handling them seperately. Much like burning in bright areas in a darkroom, and holding back exposure in the shadows, it is much easier to do it with Photoshop, than in a darkroom. You save loads of time and test strips.

Of the two, this is the one I prefer, Kelly. it is very dramatic. I see the powerful wave action, and yet off in the distance is the lighthuse, a beacon of calm.

Kelly. I think that with bout 25% less sky this becomes a more powerful image to me.

I love the feel of this picture - the roughness of the waves, the light in the sky and on the breaking waves and the darkness on the unbroken surface of the sea and in the stormy sky. The absence of color adds to the mood of this picture. This is my favorite one of the group that you posted.

Kelly I like this one the best of the 2 of them

I like this one, but the contrast between highlights and shadows isn't significant. That is what makes the other image in this group more appealing, striking and interesting to me. The other one really grabs the attention, with the contrast of the bright wave cap and the clouds, along with the lighthouse.
Great composition, excellent image.

Kelly, Since you asked for a comparison, I would like to see a 3rd image on this. I
like the detail on the waves of this one but I like the brightness of the waves in the
other image (105370635). Could you make the detailed waves in this image as bright as
the 'fluffed' waves in the other image? BTW, Very nice composition.

Regards, Thomas

This is my favorite image in this series. B&W works very well.
Love the diagonal lines of the waves leading to the Lighthouse.
Very nice work Kelly.

A moody image, like the way the wind is blowing the top of the waves.
