Frescoes

Frescoes dating back to the 13th and 16th centuries in Fanefjord Church (1250).
The most famous frescoes are those dating back to about 1500
- made by the Elmelunde Master -
which cover large areas of the church's ceiling and upper walls.
In the so-called Biblia pauperum style (a parallel to modern cartoon strips)
they present many of the most popular stories from the Old and New Testaments.
