As with any small town, the depot became a central point of activity in the early days. The depot was located across the street from the developing area. Over the years, transportation modes changed, witness the automobile, and passenger rail traffic has dwindled.

The depot was closed due to the lack of passengers and freight, and now the area has been transformed into a small park. Trains still pass here, but none stop.
