Take the slower path, get off I-20 and follow US 80 from Shreveport Louisiana to Dallas Texas.
You will see many scenic places such as this quiet restful spot just off the roadside where many have stopped and took in a picnic over the years.

Unfortunate to report that this gem is gone, a victim of progress. The 2 lane section of US 80 is currently being widened to 4 lane divided and this no longer exists.
