Pops was out taking photos of trains. He went up onto the right of way (safely, after a train passed) to take a photo of rice harvesting in the field across the tracks. He was wearing sandals, not his usual boots. The front of the sandal got caught by a crosstie and he went down, camera first.

Remarkably, the camera still worked !!! Pops was scratched up from the ballast of the tracks.
Moral, railroad tracks are private property, do not tresspass......for a good reason
