SPANISH IMPERIAL EAGLE - AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOUR

The nest of the Spanish Imperial Eagle is close to the cliff top.
All the birds crossing this area are attacked or chased.

This is the case of this Eurasian Griffon Vulture flying quietly and soaring, and attacked abruptly by the eagle. The chase was fast and we can see again this aggressive behaviour at the cliff top, when two vultures joined the perched eagle.

The nest is at the top of a cork-oak, at some distance from the cliff, but the male defends the whole area. It can be seen perched as well on tree as on rocks near the nest-site, looking around for potential danger.

PLEASE, USE THE SLIDESHOW FOR BETTER VIEW.
